A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health with Vladanka Andreyeva, the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan.
Welcoming the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev noted that the development of the healthcare system in the country is one of the priority directions of state policy. The Minister stated that the reforms carried out in this field are being implemented consistently in line with the strategic development course determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. He emphasized that cooperation with international partners, particularly with the UN, plays an important role in ensuring sustainable development in the healthcare sector.
In conclusion, the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan expressed his confidence that the cooperation would continue to be productive in the future.
Expressing her gratitude for the warm welcome, Vladanka Andreyeva emphasized the United Nations’ strong commitment to continuing its partnership and cooperation with Azerbaijan, particularly through the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2026–2030. She highly appreciated Azerbaijan’s achievements in the healthcare sector and noted that the UN is ready to continue its cooperation with the Ministry of Health in the future.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the current state of cooperation in the healthcare sector as well as future prospects. The parties highlighted the importance of joint projects implemented in the field of healthcare between Azerbaijan and UN agencies.
